At Western Kentucky Pediatric Dentistry, we specialize in pediatric dentistry. We provide a safe, welcoming, fun environment for your child to start their dental health journey.
Happy Visits Start With Healthy Smiles
Every child deserves dental care that feels comfortable, encouraging, and made just for them. At Western Kentucky Pediatric Dentistry, we make caring for growing smiles a positive experience for both children and parents.
From first visits and routine cleanings to restorative care and more advanced dental needs, our team takes the time to meet children where they are and help them feel safe, supported, and proud of their smiles. We believe that a little patience, plenty of encouragement, and great dental care can go a long way toward building healthy habits that last a lifetime.

Comprehensive Care for Growing Smiles
Every stage of childhood brings something new, and a child’s dental needs grow and change right along with them. At Western Kentucky Pediatric Dentistry, our team provides preventive, restorative and emergency pediatric dental care in a setting created specifically for children.
From routine dental cleanings and cavity prevention to restorative treatment and care for dental injuries, our goal is to help children build healthy smiles while creating positive, comfortable experiences at the dentist.
Preventive
Dentistry
Healthy smiles start with prevention. Pediatric preventive dentistry allows our team to monitor your child’s developing teeth and gums, identify concerns early and help reduce the risk of cavities and other dental problems.
Our Preventive Services Include:
Comprehensive Exams
Routine pediatric dental exams allow our team to evaluate your child’s teeth, gums, bite and overall oral development.
Dental Cleanings
Gentle professional cleanings remove plaque and buildup while helping children develop healthy brushing and oral hygiene habits.
Digital X-Rays
Digital dental X-rays help our team identify cavities, evaluate developing teeth and monitor areas that cannot be seen during a visual exam.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride helps strengthen tooth enamel and provides additional protection against tooth decay.
Dental Sealants
Sealants create a protective barrier over the chewing surfaces of teeth to help prevent cavities in hard-to-clean areas.
Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF)
SDF is a non-invasive treatment that may be recommended to help slow or stop the progression of certain cavities.
Restorative
Dentistry
When a child develops a cavity or a tooth becomes damaged, pediatric restorative dentistry can help protect the tooth and restore healthy function.
Treatment recommendations are based on each child’s age, oral health and individual dental needs.
Our Restorative Services Include:
Composite (White) Fillings
Tooth-colored fillings repair teeth affected by cavities or minor damage while providing a natural-looking result.
Stainless Steel Crowns
Durable pediatric crowns may be recommended when a primary tooth needs more protection than a filling can provide.
White Crowns
Tooth-colored pediatric crowns may be available when both protection and a natural appearance are important.
Pulpotomy (Nerve Treatment)
When decay reaches the inner portion of a primary tooth, a pulpotomy may help preserve the tooth and keep it functioning.
Dental
Extractions
Whenever possible, our goal is to preserve your child’s natural teeth. In some situations, however, a pediatric tooth extraction may be the healthiest treatment option.
Extractions may be recommended because of dental trauma, a tooth that cannot be restored due to extensive decay, or orthodontic needs. Our team takes special care to help children feel safe and supported throughout the process.
Sedation Dentistry
Every child experiences dental care differently. For children who feel nervous, have difficulty remaining comfortable during treatment or require more involved dental care, sedation options may help create a calmer and more manageable experience.
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)
Nitrous oxide is available in our office and can help children feel more relaxed during dental treatment. It is inhaled through a small nose mask and wears off quickly after treatment.
General Anesthesia
For children whose dental or medical needs require a deeper level of support, treatment may be completed under general anesthesia in a hospital setting.
Emergency
Dental Care
Accidents happen, especially during childhood. Western Kentucky Pediatric Dentistry provides emergency pediatric dental care when an accident or injury causes dental trauma.
If a child chips, breaks, loosens or knocks out a tooth, or experiences another injury involving the teeth or mouth, parents should contact our office as soon as possible.
Special Needs
Dentistry
Every child deserves dental care that respects their individual needs, comfort level and pace. Our team is trained to provide pediatric dental care for children with special healthcare needs, including autism, sensory sensitivities, anxiety and developmental differences.
We work closely with parents and caregivers to understand what may help each child have a more positive dental experience.
No-Treatment Walkthrough Visit
Children who may benefit from becoming familiar with the dental office before treatment can visit our practice, meet the team and explore the sights, sounds and surroundings without receiving treatment.
Children are welcome to bring a favorite stuffed animal so their stuffed friend can be the “patient” first during a pretend dental visit. This gives children an opportunity to see what to expect at their own pace.
